Gerardo Arteaga is a Mexican professional soccer player who currently plays as a defender for Genk in the Belgian Pro League. He was born on August 23, 1998, in Zapopan, Mexico. Arteaga began his career playing for Santos Laguna in the Mexican top-flight league, before moving to Racing Genk in 2020.
Arteaga has also represented the Mexican national team at various youth levels, including the U17, U20, and U23 teams. He made his senior debut for Mexico in a friendly match against Guatemala in September 2020. Known for his pace, defensive prowess, and ability to contribute offensively, Arteaga is considered one of the rising stars in Mexican soccer.
